Nicki Minaj<\/a>\u00a0has described conservative activists as \u201cthe cool kids\u201d in a sit-down interview with Erika Kirk in Phoenix.<\/p>\n The rapper was the surprise guest on the final day of the Turning Point USA conference in Arizona today (December 21), appearing in conversation with the organisation co-founder and widow of the murdered political commentator Charlie Kirk<\/a>.<\/p>\n At a time when\u00a0Minaj\u00a0has been embracing\u00a0conservative politics\u00a0more and more\u00a0frequently<\/a>, she expressed her \u201crespect and admiration\u201d\u00a0for the \u201chandsome, dashing\u201d\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>, and doubled down on her recent criticisms of California governor Gavin Newsom.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t be\u00a0Newscum,\u201d she said, in reference to Newsom. \u201cYoung men, you have amazing role models like our handsome, dashing president, and you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president.\u201d<\/p>\n Her reference to Vance as an \u201cassassin\u201d prompted an uncomfortable response, given the nature of Charlie Kirk\u2019s death earlier this year.\u00a0Erika interrupted, however,\u00a0stating: \u201cTrust me,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0nothing new under the sun that I have not heard.\u00a0So\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0fine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n \u201cYou\u00a0have to\u00a0laugh about it, truly,\u201d Kirk added. \u201cI have been called\u00a0every single thing, and you know what?
