David Walliams<\/a>\u00a0has denied accusations of inappropriate\u00a0behaviour\u00a0after being dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the publisher said yesterday (Friday December 19) that they would not be releasing any new books by the Little Britain<\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/i>comedian\u00a0after \u201ccareful consideration\u201d, citing the appointment of its new CEO Kate Elton in October.<\/p>\n The Telegraph<\/i><\/a> have reported that HarperCollins\u2019 decision followed an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour by Walliams towards young women, although the publisher has not stated the reasons for its decision.<\/p>\n A representative of Walliams has said that he had \u201cnever been informed of any allegations raised against him\u201d by HarperCollins and \u201che was not party to any investigation or given any opportunity to answer\u00a0questions\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cDavid strongly denies that he has behaved inappropriately and is taking legal advice,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n HarperCollins have said they have \u201cprocesses in place for reporting and investigating concerns\u201d about the wellbeing of their employees, and \u201cto respect the privacy of individuals, we do not comment on internal matters\u201d.<\/p>\n Walliams, 54,\u00a0rose to fame in the early 2000s as the co-creator and star of the BBC<\/a> sketch show\u00a0Little Britain<\/i> alongside Matt Lucas. He was as judge on\u00a0Britain\u2019s Got Talent <\/em>from 2012 until 2022, when he made his exit one year later after he apologised following a recording emerging of the judge making \u201cdisrespectful<\/a>\u201d comments towards contestants.<\/p>\n He pivoted to writing children\u2019s books and became one of the most successful authors in the UK, releasing his debut The Boy in the Dress,<\/em> published by HarperCollins in 2008. His best-known titles include Gangsta\u00a0Granny\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0Billionaire Boy<\/i>, which have both been adapted into television films, and he has sold more than 60 million copies around the world in 55 different languages.<\/p>\n HarperCollins, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch\u2019s News Corporation, have published over 40 of his books.
