Paul Simon<\/a>,\u00a0Cher<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Chaka Khan<\/a> are among the artists set to receive a Lifetime Achievement award at this year\u2019s\u00a0Grammys<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Recording Academy\u00a0have\u00a0announced that Latin rock guitar legend\u00a0Carlos Santana<\/a>\u00a0will also pick up the\u00a0honour, while\u00a0Whitney Houston<\/a>\u00a0and Afrobeat legend\u00a0Fela Kuti<\/a>\u00a0will be posthumously\u00a0recognised.<\/p>\n Lyricist Bernie Taupin, record executive Sylvia Rhone and Latin jazz musician Eddie Palmieri \u2013 who passed away in August \u2013 will also be honoured with the Trustees Award, while classical composer John Chowning will receive the Technical Grammy Award.<\/p>\n The awards will be presented at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on January 31, the night before the main\u00a0ceremony\u00a0at the Crypto.com Arena\u00a0in Los Angeles on February 1.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n <\/p><\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n <\/p><\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n <\/p><\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n <\/p><\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n The Lifetime Achievement award is presented to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made \u201ccreative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording\u201d.
