St. Vincent<\/a>\u00a0brought her cover of\u00a0David Bowie<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Young Americans\u2019 to\u00a0The Late Show With Stephen Colbert <\/i>this week \u2013 watch below.<\/p>\n The singer-songwriter \u2013 real name Annie Clark \u2013 appeared on the talk show on Wednesday night (December 17) as part of the\u00a0programme\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Under\u00a0The\u00a0Covers\u2019 series, playing the 1975 classic\u00a0with flamboyant\u00a0rock\u2019n\u2019roll swagger.<\/p>\n Clark first played the track during\u00a0her set at Love Rocks at New York\u2019s Beacon Theatre in March 2023<\/a>, and this time around, she switched the iconic \u201cDo you remember President Nixon\u201d line, invoking Joe Biden in Nixon\u2019s place.<\/p>\n In an interview ahead of the performance, Clark was asked for three artists that she would like to hear covering her own music, and she named\u00a0Erykah Badu<\/a>, Doechii <\/a>and The Slits<\/a>.<\/p>\n Watch the footage of her performance here:<\/p>\n\n St. Vincent has often cited Bowie as a major influence on her work. In 2015,\u00a0she spoke about how his aesthetic choices have\u00a0impacted\u00a0her<\/a>, saying:\u00a0\u201cHe had a myriad of aesthetics and was constantly changing \u2013 but it was always rooted in music.
