Ariana Grande has announced a new short film titled Brighter Days Ahead.

Grande unveiled a first look at the short film through Instagram via a quick teaser trailer. The trailer does not offer a look at Grande in the short film, but confirms the return of her character Peaches that was first seen in the music video for ‘We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)’.

Brighter Days Ahead has been confirmed as an accompaniment to her upcoming deluxe edition of ‘Eternal Sunshine’, which is due out on March 28. The short film will release on the same day as the album.

A post shared by Ariana Grande (@arianagrande)

Grande announced the deluxe version of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ earlier this month (March 10) after hinting that the release of an expanded version of her seventh album was imminent on the Oscars red carpet, saying “it must come out”. “Soon means 10 days or less,” she said. “I’m not allowed to use this word at the moment. I’m not going to use that word today. I’ll say that.”

Hopes for the deluxe edition have been around since the start of the new year too, as Grande revealed the first hints at the Golden Globes: “There’s something I made last year that will come out eventually. It’s an attachment of ‘Eternal Sunshine’, so that does exist and that will be coming out at some point.”

It isn’t yet clear exactly what the expanded version of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ – officially called ‘Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead’ – will include, but it will be arriving just over a year after the original version was shared in 2024. Visit here to pre-save.

In a four-star review of the record, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “On the one hand, ‘Eternal Sunshine’ is a spacey but relatable break-up album defined by its emotional maturity. ‘We both know I couldn’t change you – I guess you could say the same,’ she sings on the title track.

“On the other, it’s the most sophisticated project yet from a preternaturally talented vocalist who keeps getting better. Whatever you take away from it, ‘Eternal Sunshine’ definitely isn’t an album you’ll want to wipe from memory.”

The post Ariana Grande announces new short film ‘Brighter Days Ahead’ appeared first on NME.

Ariana Grande has announced a new short film titled Brighter Days Ahead.
